Here is a stock Demon on 91 octane incinerating the 1/8th mile in 6.8 secs @ 102 mph. Camaro SS for scale.

Basically, taking a Demon off the showroom and straight to the strip will give you a car that can pass an S-P100D over the 1/8th but not enough to take on a 918 or 720S (at all really). You’ll definitely need the PCM and big boy fuel if you pick fights with cars touching the 10 sec line on the 1/4 mile. Hey, but you might survive leaving the skinnies in the crate (except against LaFerraris, Chirons, Concept Ones, the usual suspects).

**Update: Found a full video. There was a 6.6 sec run @ 104 mph against a Hellcat in this one.

A pretty common drag racing length. Cheaper and safer.

1/8th is super common. I prefer watching 1/4 mile, but there’s plenty of series that run 1/8th exclusively.

Weird. Anyone I’ve ever known who has drag raced did 1/4 mile. I’ve never even heard of people listing 1/8 mile times. I read 6s amd thought this thing was insanely fast for a stock factory built car, then I saw it was 1/8 mile.

Even if you run a 1/4 mile, they still have 1/8 mile (660 ft) times on the slip.

A 1/4 mile’s better, but some places don’t have the space for it. A lot of tracks are 1/8th.

1/8 mile tracks seem far more common on the east coast. They require so much less space given that when you shrink the track you also shrink the runoff.

Here is Summerduck Dragway, an 1/8 mile track:

Here is Sacramento Raceway, a 1/4 mile track, at the same scale:

The Demon does nothing for me. I would much sooner get a ZL1 and be able go quick in a straight line AND around turns.
